I'm pretty sure Meredith thought she was going to see actual dinosaurs. In fact I am sure of it. She said that she was going to see dinosaurs like on "Dino Dan" (a show on Nick Jr.). Instead she saw bones. Lots of them and she wasn't impressed. She wasn't impressed with their size or their age. She couldn't have cared less what they ate or why they had horns on their heads. She didn't want to know that some ate others and that a rock from space swooped in & messed everything up for them. Nope... all she cared about was getting pretzels. And when we got to the overpriced "cafe" all she cared about was a cookies with M&Ms on it.

And then we pressed on. We saw the Hall of Ocean Life with the giant blue whale hanging from the ceiling. We saw the hall of biodiversity and we started the hall of gems & minerals. Meredith had her moments of pure bliss, but a lot of the day she was tired & cranky. Sean slept most of the time.

When it was very obvious that it was time to leave..... right after she had a meltdown around the elephants, we tried to have her sit in the stroller nicely. She had other ideas. Instead she had a major meltdown and even Sean was embarrassed. He totally gave Meredith & Rob (who was strapping her into the stroller) the side eye. You know the one. The kind of look that's both critical & mocking all one. He makes me laugh. I totally joked that a meltdown is bad when even your baby brother pretends he doesn't know you.

We walked downtown to 57th Street for some lunch & then hopped on the train home. We thought Meredith would sleep on the way home, but she didn't. Instead she blessed us with an early bedtime. YAY!!! Brownie & ice cream time.
