Life for Meredith

Meredith's birthday party went off with pretty much no hitches, except for the unseasonably brisk temperatures. Thank goodness. All the kids and most of the adults had a great time. The carousel was a big hit with everyone. Our decorations were simple with some balloons and banners. Our menu even more simple; pizza & chips. It was totally casual. Rob & I moved the picnic tables closer to the playground behind the carousel so the kids could play and we (the adults) could still watch them and we had fun.

We made a decision to buy generic soda. GASP!!! I'm a soda snob. Well... I used to be a soda snob. This year I was not paying double the price for soda that I don't usually drink. BJ's had a 24 can case of "cola". Guess what! It tastes like Coke. That's my review of the "half the price" BJ's brand soda.

Sean..... well..... Sean did what Sean does best. He slept through the whole thing! I know. I know. You're shocked.

Meredith started preschool too. She's enjoying it and has lots of friends. Our only issue so far is that there appears to be to much time between her last day of school for the week, Thursday, and her first day of the next week, Tuesday. In October, we're switching her to 5 half days so she has less time between classes. We'll see how she does on Tuesday.

This week she participated in The International Day of Peace at school. I picked her up at 11:30am and I felt it was important for her to go back & join her classmates for the celebration. So back we went. My father in law stayed with Sean so that my focus could be on Meredith.

I'm pretty sure there is a picture just like that one ^^^ floating around somewhere of me.

How cute am i? I went to my first school function for Meredith. Yeah yeah... life's not about me. Blah blah blah. I had a first too damn it!

Anyway, at first she didn't wanna stand with her class. I think she felt like I was gonna leave her there again. I did manage to convince bribe her to stand with them for the duration of the ceremony. She almost lasted the whole time. She held the pinwheel she made up high, but didn't crack a smile once during the ceremony. She was none to happy to have her computer teacher trying to take pictures of her either.

She took her pledge of non-violence and planted her pinwheel. Her teachers and the principal were very happy to see that she came back. I'm pretty sure she was the only morning student to go back. I was happy & proud of her.

We stayed for the Peace Feast & then headed home. It was a good day!

  1. Too cute that Sean slept through the party! we joke that Hailey slept through our entire vacation...she would wake up when we would be in the hotel but slept through the other stuff.
