On that amazing night of September 14, 2008 as ours & everyone else's nurse cheered us on, daddy & I welcomed you into the world. That was the night you'd get your first sweet kiss & loving hug as we said "I love you" to you for the first time.
Now as we watch you twirl around in your princess dresses and listen to the stories you tell us, we're amazed at how "old" you seem. How big our little girl has gotten. We can't believe how fast the time has gone by us.
Wasn't it only just yesterday I was snuggling with you on the couch taking a nap?

Wasn't it just a few days ago that you were just sitting on your own? And let's not discuss standing & tearing through the house. It all feels like it JUST happened. It feels like I was just telling everyone & anyone that would listen that my baby was standing on her own.

In some ways, you're still very much my baby. My baby is learning new things everyday. Only now the things you are learning are so different. You're still inquisitive and you still search out the way inside of everything.
You're shy and coy. You're not quick to embrace new people, but you are more open to finding out if people are worth your effort. This is something very new for you and it makes us so very happy & proud of you for sticking to who you are.
You're growing up to be an amazing teacher. We watch as you play with Sean and teach him new things. We watch as you teach him to be silly & know just how to soothe him when he's upset. We listen as you talk him very sweetly when he's on your good side. And we listen as you yell when he's done something you don't like.
I was worried you & Sean wouldn't be friends. I was worried you wouldn't like him. But you have proven time & time again that he bugs ya, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
You're growing up to be quite sarcastic. A few weeks ago a friend of mommy & daddy's asked you where you had gotten your shoes. Very indignantly you looked at her and said "At the shoe store." Well duh!
You've also learned how to torment Sean & get away with it. As you tease him with a toy by putting just within his reach & pulling it away you will look at me and say "I'm not teasing him mommy. I just teaching him that he can't have everything." And of course mommy can't argue because I guess..... that is one way to teach that lesson.
We still like to snuggle, but now it's even more fun. Now we snuggle while watching TV or movies. We paint our toe nails & fingernails. You tell me what your favorite part of the day was and tell me what we're going to do the next day.
We even like to snuggle in mommy & daddy's bed. The only thing we can't quite figure out is how someone so petite, takes up so much room in the bed. It's a wonder of physics, I tell you.
You just started school and you're probably having your first school birthday party RIGHT NOW!! EEEKKK!! We made the cupcakes together and you were so excited that you were going to celebrate your birthday.
This weekend, we'll have a big party for you when everyone who can, will celebrate your getting a little bit older.
We love my girl and we're so very proud of you. Keep on smiling.....
