After she opened her cards and everyone was dressed we went up the block to our favorite luncheonette for breakfast. On the way there we of course did the silly walk and picked up some sticks.

We sat down at our favorite table and said hello to the other regulars. And Gerard brought over our drinks. Meredith gets an OJ and I get a coffee. Meredith always gets an eggy and I usually get a BLT on a roll. Today of course, as soon as her yellow eggy (she gets a choice of white or yellow) got there, Meredith had no desire to eat. So she got down & played while I ate, talked to the other folks and had my coffee.

Sean of course was asleep the whole time.

On the way home I taught Meredith about shadows. First I showed our shadows together. Yes that little wave on the left side is Sean's hair.

I showed Meredith her shadow when she was standing alone and I told her that that little girl does the same thing she did. Meredith was totally intrigued by this & tested it out.

We headed over to the bookstore for story time. We haven't been there in a while because it was just to packed during the summer & Meredith really wasn't into it. But this morning I asked her if she wanted to go & she was very excited about it. When we got there Tatiana started a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to Meredith and then it was time for the books. Gotta love facebook. Everyone knows everything.
The books being read were about an elephant & a piggy. As Tatiana read the stories, I laughed. I thought they were so cute & funny.

Meredith dragged a stuffed monkey over to where we were sitting & a little boy came over to play too.

Sean of course slept through the whole thing.

We came home for lunch and a nap and then it was Dora time. The Perkins in Staten Island has days when they have a cartoon character walk around for the kids. We had no idea about this until like 2 weeks ago when we went there for lunch. Today it was Dora. I had no idea whether Meredith would be afraid of her or not. As soon as Meredith saw Dora she was enamored with her. It was like she had died & gone to Dora heaven.
And because it was pretty empty in Perkins tonight, Dora spent a considerable about of time (read most of our dinner) by our table hanging out with her number 1 fan, Meredith.

Then of course it was time for dessert. Meredith & I shared a fudge brownie topped with chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge & sprinkles. And this time it was I who felt I had died & gone to heaven.

Happy birthday to my baby!!!
