So proud of my kids

Everyday they show me that they love each other. Today we went to Nathan's for lunch and had plans to go see the "fishies" at the aquarium. We made it to Nathan's. We had hot dogs & Sean slept. He wasn't all that thrilled. Meredith wasn't thrilled with the camera. Humpf. I knew her latest love affair with the camera wouldn't last.

It was very hot out & everyone was tired & cranky. Ok not everyone. Sean was happily sleeping. Unfortunately he was very hot. I think it's the car seat. Meredith used to be hot in it too. We finished eating & made our way over to the aquarium, but being that is summertime, there were nothing, but camp kids there. Meredith had no desire to sit in the stroller going backward. I didn't bring her "leash" and had no desire to a) lose her in the midst of crazy children b) fight with a tired, cranky toddler who wasn't going to get her way. So we headed back to the car.

On the way back I noticed Sean's face was getting more & more red. He was getting so hot. So I hauled ass down Surf Avenue to get back to the car so Sean could sit in the a/c and cool off. As soon as I got Meredith into the car, she fell asleep. Poor kid was soooooo tired. We made it home in 10 minutes and Meredith promptly woke up and would not go back to sleep.

I put Sean down on the floor for his tummy time and as soon as the mat went down on the floor, Meredith took her cue. She loaded the mat up with today's activity. She was going to read to Sean. She's to much.

She explained to Sean who all the Sesame Street characters are and who was big & small. She raised her hands above her head when explaining how big bird is big. And Sean watched her turn the pages and "listened" intently. I'm pretty sure he couldn't have cared less what she was talking about, but I don't care.

It makes me beam with pride that Meredith cares so much about Sean. It makes me so happy to see them playing together already.

We sang songs when story time was over. And of course no song is complete without some hand clapping. We sang The Wheels on the Bus, Old McDonald, The ABC's, etc.

And because Meredith didn't nap, but 10 minutes, she went to bed early. Unfortunately, I don't think she's feeling so kosher. At 8pm, she woke up crying. Not the usual screaming out for "mommy", but writhing in pain in her bed. She didn't stand up. She didn't demand her cup. She didn't even ask to be picked up. I picked her up and brought her to my bed so I could lay with her & hopefully make her feel better. She's still in there an hour later. She's going to the dr to see what's going on. I feel so bad for her. When I'm ready for bed I'll go in & evict her to her own bed.

This is what a Mini Scott Invasion looks like around here. Meredith takes over an entire queen size bed. As Foxy puts it..... "she sleeps like a starfish". I love a good Stephism.
