Both my kids are sick. Yes ladies & germs..... Meredith got sick and then got Sean sick. We brought them both to the pediatrician today. We thought Meredith had a run of the mill cold. So we thought nothing of it. She had no real fever to speak of. Just coughing, sneezing & spitting up the lovely mucous anytime she coughed & gagged. Fun times I tell you. But again.... we thought it was just a cold. Sean's been sneezing & coughing the last couple of days, but nothing majorly exciting.
This morning Meredith woke up holding both her ears and screaming "EARS!". My poor baby. We thought she had an ear infection. As soon as the pedi opened up we called & got an appt for both of them. We're going in anyway for Meredith, might as well get Sean checked out too.
It turns out that both of them have bronchiolitis. It's an inflammation of the bronchioles (branches) in the lungs. My poor babies. They don't have any pneumonia and both are on nebulizer treatments. We go back on Wednesday for a recheck and to make sure both are getting better.
Unfortunately, I'm not able to keep the kids apart. I think Meredith would just crumble if she wasn't allowed to play with Sean during his daily tummy time or love him and me while Sean is nursing. These are things that she has grown to expect and enjoys. Everyday she has a new activity for Sean's tummy time. So we'll just have to hope & pray that they both get better quickly.
Here we are waiting for the doctor to come in.
In other news, Sean's body is balancing itself out. We went to the cardiologist on Thursday for a check. His oxygen saturations are still between 98% and 100%. Go Sean!! And his heart has grown an obstruction. It's expected in his condition so they're not worried. Especially since his saturations are so high. The good thing is that this obstruction has grown in a good spot. It is preventing his lungs from receiving & then being overwhelmed by blood and ensuring that the aorta doesn't receive & pump to much dirty blood into the body. We go back in 1 month to check on him again.
From the mouths of babes. I told Meredith that I had to pump the other day. She looked at me and said "pump" and lifted her shirt and said "boobies". Yes that is my child.
And now some pictures. Because I know that's why you really come here. ;) And really.... I can't blame you. Look how cute my kids are.

Both of your children are adorable! I love Sean's facial expressions. Hope they are both feeling better soon!
