On top of all of that, I managed to feed Meredith before 9am, get her, me & Sean dressed, get me & Sean fed and remembered to give the dogs treats on our way out the door. I'd say that makes me a superhero. Ok maybe it just makes me one hell of a lucky mom that the stars aligned for me this morning. Lord knows the stars owed me after the mess they pulled last night. ::::::::giving the stars the side eye:::::::::::
Our destination this morning was Boulevard Books on 13th Avenue http://tinyurl.com/34ne6h7. This is an amazing bookstore that the neighborhood needed desperately. Tatiana has brought so many amazing groups together under one roof.
We went to the "Baby Be Crafty" class. Meredith as usual was marching to beat of her own drummer. We were supposed to be making foam fishies and Meredith was making abstract fishies. Look how she makes you think she's listening so intently. Like she's really going to do it "your" way.

This is what it was supposed to look like as Tatiana was making it.

This is what Meredith's looked like.

Who cares. Meredith had fun as always. And Sean.... Well Sean slept through it as usual.

We usually goto story time here, but lately Meredith isn't as interest in story time. I don't know if it's the size of the group, the age of the group, the time of the class (right before nap time), or just the temptation of all those books just waiting to be pulled off the shelves.
We came home, put Sean down to sleep and had some lunch. Then it was nap time. Again the stars were making up for last night's fiasco. I actually got to eat something, have some ice cream and..... wait for it..... wait for it...... TAKE A SHOWER!! Can you imagine? All three? I didn't get a chance to have a cup of coffee, but I'll take what I can get.
Sean had woken up by the time I got out of the shower, but just needed a nibble. Then he was right back to sleep. Gotta love being a newborn right?
Meredith woke up & it was cookies time. I love baking with her. She just gets right in there & gets dirty. We had a lot of fun.
First we set the oven and then we got our dough together. We were making sugar cookies. Mmmmmmmmm We stirred and then got our hands into the mix to bring it all together.

We floured the cutting board we were using to roll out the dough. "Meredith only put a little bit of flour"

Meredith helped rolled out the dough & then used the different cookie cutters to make the cookies. She even counted to 7 on her own while making the cookies. I am so proud. It's amazing the things your kids will show you they are learning. I had no idea she could count to 7 on her own.

We were covered from head to toe in flour, but who cares? We had a blast making the cookies. I need to go buy muffin tins so we can make brownie muffins. Maybe we'll make them with a little fudge surprise in the middle.

Meredith took a couple of tries before she perfected her sugaring technique. We sprinkled cinnamon sugar on some cookies, colored sugar on other cookies and we left some plain. The plain ones were set up to receive chocolate & sprinkles.

It was literally 8 minutes in the oven. By the looks of Meredith you would've thought it was a lifetime. Poor kid couldn't wait to eat her spoils.

She didn't even wait for them to cool off before she was munching on her first one.

fun, fun! I definitely need some cookie cutters.
