We exercised with Sean and when he got nice & tired, put him to bed. Then we got the cardboard out & laid it on the floor. I have to protect my floors somehow. I got the canvas I bought the other day, the paints and the construction paper. Meredith loves to finger paint.
I put paint on her canvas & showed her that if she mixed them, she could make different colors. She has mixed her paints before, but I never told her specifically that yellow & blue paints mixed together would make green and so forth.

When she was done with the canvas, we moved onto the construction paper. Again we mixed colors & saw what we could make. Then I had a brilliant idea. I'd show Meredith colors & textures. So we loaded the paper up with lots of paint. Then I showed her how to fold it in half without making a complete mess. And then...... when we opened it..... we had a new design & a new texture.

She loved it & wanted to do it with every other paper we had. And so it was. We loaded every paper up with paint & she would move the paint around on the paper and fold it in half. She marveled at how different each design was.

We had a lot of fun and then it was bath time. Unfortunately, I noticed a rash that Meredith had yesterday had gotten worse despite our best efforts to keep it from getting that way. I gave Meredith her bath and got her dressed. I called the pediatrician & told them we'd be coming in yet again. I swear they should just start paying me to be there.
Sean woke up right on cue and we all played again. Lots of exercising going on in this hut for the mini Scotts. I managed to get Sean down for his nap & Meredith went down a little while after that. When she woke up her rash was worse. I went through the whole list of things it could've been. Except there's nothing it could've been.
Rob came home early & away Meredith & I went to the dr. Guess what. He said "it's an allergy." I had to explain that I had given her benadryl last night and it got worse. He then told me that it couldn't be an allergy then. Thanks.
He decided it was a rash from the tail end of whatever virus she's had. More than likely fifths disease. I asked about Sean and whether I should expect him to get this rash and he said "yes. You should see it within a few days". Great. At least I don't have to bring him in for that rash. I will already know what it is.
Have I mentioned how sick & tired I am of doctors? In case you don't know, I'm bordering on going insane because I spend so much time, energy & money on doctors.

I am an old member of the PAL group (chikinyellow) and I recently came across your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a wonderful mom with great strength. I admire how you are able to get everything done and have a happy family. Meredith is a doll (and so smart) and Sean is so handsome and strong.
I sometimes wonder if I could handle 2 kids and you have helped me see that if you put your mind to it, it can happen.
Take care of yourself!
