And then I had the brilliant idea to bring her to the farmers market. I realized I had never taken her before. I thought that maybe if I let her pick some fruits & veggies out she'd actually eat them. She was so excited that all I heard in the car on the way there was "Mommy. Go shopping. For fruits." No mention of veggies.
On our way there I spied a spot right across the street from a post office. And guess what! That post office was not only not packed, but there was no step to get in. You know what that means? It means I didn't have to maneuver a double stroller up a step, through a door & onto a line to mail my packages that were in my car. Awesome! And hopefully Julie will be happy with her packages. One of them I have been meaning to mail to her since like November.
After the post office we went to the market. I unloaded Meredith & put a sleeping Sean in the lillebaby. I love that thing and thanks to our friend Krista, I am able to use the newborn insert. Especially now that I have figured it out & don't get tied up in it anymore. He's in there I swear. We crossed the street & got ourselves a cart.

Meredith headed straight for her favorite fruit, watermelon.

And then we perused the aisles. I showed her how to look at fruit and make sure not to pick the bruised ones. We smelled cantaloupes and the peaches. I love the way a ripe peach smells.

We picked tomatoes on the vine and then saw the man with the cherries. He gave her one & she said "thank goo." She's so sweet. A woman passed us and commented about Meredith's politeness. I was so proud. Meredith really is very polite. Meredith enjoyed that cherry very much.

Meredith continued on & I had to make sure she paid attention to other people with carts and the employees with hand carts. She learned the hard way not to pull the bottom veggie out. Ok well... I learned the hard way not to let her "experience and learn" everything, especially pulling the bottom veggie out. There was almost broccoli everywhere and she got wet because they had just been sprayed.

She had a good time. We smelled herbs and even tasted some. Ssssshhhhh don't tell anyone. And then we went through the back where all the goodies are. We pick out some chocolate croissants & we were on our way. We checked out and I got everyone loaded into the car. Of course Sean was unimpressed with the farmers market. Maybe next year he'll enjoy it as much as Meredith did.

I promise I will LOVE my package and everything in it. LOVE these pics. the farmer's market looks like so much fun. I love all of your adventures. I'm jealous of how much M talks. I wish Conner would talk more.
ReplyDeleteDon't be jealous. The novelty of talking wears of fast. LOL
